Continuing Professional Development
Continuing Professional Development Cycle

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is a process of lifelong
learning which meets the professional and personal needs of the
individual practitioner.
CPD is much more than acquiring knowledge through continuing
education, it is about applying new knowledge and skills to daily
practice and doing so on an ongoing basis so that learning and good
practice become one and the same. Ultimately, the benefit will be
threefold - to the practitioner, the profession and, most importantly,
to the well-being of the communities we are contracted to serve.
ICCPE has developed a CPD Toolkit to assist Irish pharmacists
in getting their CPD on the road. Based on the successful CPD: Back
to the Future roadshow run in 2005/2006, the CPD Toolkit sets
out a step-by-step approach to making the most of all learning
opportunities be they at a lecture, in the pharmacy or in the community.
Online access to the CPD Toolkit it restricted to ICCPE members. To
access it, you will need to use your ICCPE username and password. If
you are an ICCPE member and you do not have a password, please contact
ICCPE at

one. To view the CPD Toolkit, click here.
