Prodigy Guidance provides evidence-based clinical information
covering symptoms and conditions commonly encountered in primary care.
As well as provision of clinical evidence for pharmacists and nurse
practitioners, Prodigy provides information for patients.
Prodigy Guidance is available on over 170 topics grouped into 26
different areas of clinical specialty. Guidance is available both
online at www.prodigy.nhs.uk
or in book format (first published in 2002).
Prodigy Guidance is provided as:
- Full Text Guidance - provides both concise information for
decision-making in the practice setting and more detailed background
information to support additional learning.
- Quick Reference Guides - provide a summary of key management
options, linking them to supporting information and prescription
details.
- Patient Information Leaflets - provide guidance for patients, giving
an overview of the condition, advice on self-management, information on
treatment options and sources of additional assistance.
- Prodigy Drugs - provides a listing of drugs recommended by Prodigy,
linking them to appropriate conditions and situations for which they are
recommended.
