SIGN Guidelines
Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network, Edinburgh
SIGN has developed a series of 113 evidence-based clinical
guidelines. This series covers a broad range of topics and encompasses
the NHS priority areas of cardiovascular disease, cancer and mental
health.
SIGN guidelines are developed using a stringent methodology involving
systematic review and critical appraisal of current scientific
literature. SIGN guideline recommendations are graded according to the
strength of the supporting evidence, thus, enabling the healthcare
practitioner to select and prioritise recommendations according to
their local needs, priorities, and resources.
